Warwick Area Career and Technical Center graphics art student Samantha Laurent is a Natasha Love Foundation Love Youth Artists Awards winner. A senior, Laurent plans to pursue her education although at this time hasn’t decided where. The awards are a representation of Natasha Love Gonsalves’ passion and legacy for the arts. Natasha’s mother, Rebecca, started the foundation on Natasha’s dreams to help young artists excel through mentoring and support. Nominations were made in the Visual Arts, Theatre/Poetry/Singing, Dance, and Music with selections based on the categories of Love, Peace, Unity, Awareness, and Inspiration of Love Leadership. Awards were presented last month. Laurent received a $300 scholarship that she spent on a computer and materials to further her education. (Warwick Beacon photo)
