A bright 105th birthday

Posted

Rosie D’Orio, a resident at Cherry Hill Manor, recently celebrated her 105th birthday, and the limitations posed by the coronavirus pandemic couldn’t stop her from smiling.

According to family friend Jerry DiBiasio, Rosie loves brightly colored clothes and crocheting, and she loves her vegetables. Rosie, a Boston native, worked for a jewelry mill for 69 years. She and her husband had two daughters and moved to Johnston in 1934.

She rang in this birthday with her daughter, two grandchildren, six great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren, with another on the way. According to Rosie, the key to a long life is to “keep your mouth shut and keep busy!”
