Then maybe the planning department shouldn't have put the schools there or allowed the area to become "densely populated". Many houses in the area had a side lot, eventually they were sold to a developer that comes in and divides the property, allowing houses to be built on postage stamp lots, creating a denser populated area. I believe the police range was there for decades before the schools.

This is like moving next to the dump and complaining about the smell.
