POP-UP SERIES 2019
As a touring symphony, the WSO brings music to communities across the Ocean State and aims to keep our live music events accessible to all. Our expanding membership of non-professionals, high-school and college students, retired professionals, music educators, and life-long learners are all dedicated to the social, spiritual, and cognitive benefits of presenting and attending concerts. Our newest initiative brings WSO into new communities with a series of five FREE performances of orchestral pops music including selections from film, the Broadway stage, popular radio, and beloved patriotic tunes. This activity is made possible in part by a grant from the Rhode Island State Council on the Arts, through an appropriation by the Rhode Island General Assembly and a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts.
