John Travolta, Emma Thompson and Kathy Bates starred in the political drama, “Primary Colors,” while Matt Dillon played a teacher in “Wild Things.”

Walter Matthau and Jack Lemmon starred in “The Odd Couple II,” which proved to be a bomb. Billy Crystal starred in “My Giant,” which was a hit.

Phish was at Vets; the Austin Lounge Lizards were at the Orpheum.

Cathy Rigby played Peter Pan, flying over the PPAC audience. We were able to interview the two-time Olympic gymnast turned actress, and she was a delight. She was the only performer I ever interviewed who sent me a thank-you card.

Also at PPAC in March was “Tap Dogs,” a high energy tap dance show from Australia.

Cranstonian Elizabeth Ricardo, a sixth grade honor student at Hugh B. Bain Middle School, was a standout in Perishable Theatre’s production of Naomi Wallace’s “One Flea Spare.”

Michael Tucci starred in “Chicago” at PPAC. Cranston resident Erica Warren was assistant choreographer in the production of the All Children’s Theatre Ensemble of “Give My Regards to Broadway.”

Eric Weissberg, who won a Grammy for “Dueling Banjos,” joined the Shaw Brothers in a great concert at the Greenwich Odeum.
