St. Rocco gets a kick out of Catholic Schools Week

SUCCESS: Fourth grader Daniel Catanzaro was chosen from the audience to try breaking a board in front of the entire school, and he was successful on his first try.

In honor of Catholic Schools Week, the students at St. Rocco School were treated to a special presentation by the Mastery Martial Arts studio last week. An after-school martial arts program will be starting up at the school soon, and the presentation served as a way to get the students excited about the after school program as well.

Two representatives from Mastery Martial Arts, Anthony Pezzillo and David Babits, ran the presentation, which focused on teaching the students some basic martial arts moves as well as encouraging good work habits, self-esteem and self-confidence. (Photos by Jen Cowart)
