Senior sendoff to student council members

Posted

The school year is slowly coming to an end and as we say goodbye to one graduating class, we say hello to the upcoming freshmen as they begin their class elections.

The month of May has been a hectic time for the student council members of Johnston High School, who have held their own elections for new class officers and representatives. Those running for a position were required to write a speech and campaign by making two posters that would be showcased in the cafeteria.

As someone who has done this for all four years, I would like to recognize all those students who ran in this year’s election and all of the hard work they put into writing their speech and making their posters. It is not easy making a speech in front of over 100 people and running against your friends.

Although there wasn’t a spot for everyone to be a class officer or representative, I believe that the people dedicated enough to run will still be as dedicated to the school. As the graduating Student Council president, I would like to say good luck to my peers and I wish you all the best.
