While thousands fought the highway traffic to get to the Rhode Island National Guard Open House and Air Show last weekend, 4,271 took the train from Providence, Warwick and Wickford Junction to get to and back from Quonset. That’s about one out of 13 to attend the show. This is the second year the Department of Transportation has provided the free service made possible with a federal grant. Ridership was up about 500 from last year. The station at the Interlink was busy Saturday morning as people waited for the 10:15 train.
