Central school registration offices formerly located in the school administration on Warwick Avenue have a new home along with other school staff members in the former Gorton Junior High School on Draper Avenue. Access is from the back of the building and easy to find – follow the signs. Linda Benson of the office reported that about 15 registrations have been scheduled for today and Friday. She suggested people call 734-3040 to make an appointment and be sure to bring along their child’s birth certificate and immunization records. In addition parents need to show a proof of residence and identification such as a passport or license. Parents can apply for an attendance waiver if they want their child to attend a school outside their district. Assuming the space is available, parents are then responsible for transportation to the school. Central registration is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Benson and Nancy Zoglio have decorated their new digs even providing a play area for kids while their parents complete forms. And as school administrators opened their new offices, school crews including Rick Bergsten pictured here put finishing touches to the building.
