Fun to spare

More 50 children and volunteers from Lincoln Fire, Rescue and Police and Providence Police attended the nonprofit Public Safety Special Needs Coalition’s bowling event this past Saturday, Feb. 8, at CW Lanes & Games at 622 George Washington Highway in Lincoln.

Alicia Ead, senior family support specialist for The Autism Project in Johnston, said families had tons of great things to say. Public safety officials and kids with special needs hit the lanes in a day filled with fun, aimed at fostering stronger ties between the two communities.

“The Public Safety Special Needs Coalition continues to lay the foundation for this type of work with this never-been-done-before event,” Ead said.
