Rain doesn't put damper on Bridge's Easter Egg Hunt

There has never been as much activity in The Bridge at Cherry Hill’s well-appointed Bistro – and main lobby, for that matter – as there was Saturday afternoon.

Even the first floor corridor at the award-winning assisted living and retirement center was overflowing with people of all ages.

Enter sales/community relations director Jen Burns and executive director Maryann Grace, who again used their collective talents and presented the center’s fourth annual, fun-filled Easter Egg Hunt despite the day’s rain. The wet weather never subsided, but kids nevertheless enjoyed the spacious and well-groomed grounds outdoors.

None of the children who came carrying baskets, nor their parents and other family members, seemed to mind having to hunt for multi-colored plastic Easter eggs inside The Bridge’s many posh areas.

“This is fun,” Burns said. “The kids are looking everywhere for the eggs that our residents took special care in filling with all types of candy.”

In keeping with tradition, participants in The Bridge’s 2019 Easter Egg Hunt also enjoyed a colorful bunny cake that Burns said was made and designed by one of center’s cooks, Steve Frausto.

Staffers like Ann Marie Sardelli and others cut and served pieces of the bunny cake. They even had fruit punch on hand for all the hunters.

“The bunny cake is part of our tradition here,” Burns said. “But so is the Easter Egg Hunt, and we have to give a huge shout out to our residents who carefully filled 750 eggs.”

While the weather was indeed inclement, there was no doubt about the bright enthusiasm inside The Bridge. Residents like Dorothy Branch were wearing bunny ears, and Jane Cimaglia sat in the main lobby serving as the unofficial grand greeter for this year’s event.
