Planting the seeds

Gov. Gina Raimondo, Department of Human Services Director Courtney E. Hawkins and United Way CEO and President Cortney Nicolato visited the pre-kindergarten classroom at Tri-County Action Agency on 79 Waterman Ave. in North Providence Monday afternoon. Hawkins briefly spoke to assembled media before the event began, stressing the importance of Raimondo’s universal pre-kindergarten initiative. Raimondo then read “Big Red Barn” by Margaret Wise Brown, before joining Hawkins and Nicolato to plant lima beans with the students. (Submitted photo)
