Former Panther honored

Remember Paul Robitaille?

Back in 2015, his senior season on Cherry Hill, Robitaille was a member of Johnston High School’s football Panthers whose talents were utilized on the defensive side of the field.

“Paul started his schoolboy football career on Cherry Hill as a standout defensive player,” a football coach close to the Robitaille family said while speaking on behalf of the JHS graduate. “At Anna Maria (College), the coaches asked him to switch to the offensive side of the ball as a junior and he excelled ever since.”

So much so, in fact, the 6-foot-3, 265-pound senior was recently honored with the prestigious “Offensive Player of the Year” award during the Amcats annual and recent football awards dinner in Paxton, Ma.

Robitaille was one of only two former Rhode Island schoolboy football standouts on the Amcats 2018 roster.
