Onward to on (and off) ramps

Posted

Considered to be one of the most important components in the development of the Citizens Bank Campus project on Greenville Avenue, construction of new on and off ramps to Route 295 is now underway. All necessary approvals for the construction of the $6 million ramps, with costs being split evenly between the bank and the state, are in place. Fill is being moved throughout the construction site, trees and vegetation have been removed, and safety barrels and signs have been placed on Greenville Avenue and Route 295. Work is anticipated to be completed by the end of the year to accommodate employees and equipment moving in to the new campus next spring. Along with the ramps, a total of three new traffic lights will be installed, one at the main entrance of the campus and the others on each side of the route 295 bridge over Greenville Avenue. When completed, the ramps will have a similar feel as those located at the intersection of Route 6 and Atwood Avenue. Once finished, the ramps will become state property.
