Little Learners show love for soldiers

Pre-school students at Little Learners Preschool and Enrichment Center sent warm thoughts to soldiers overseas with Valentine’s Day cards they customized last Thursday. The activity is part of the program’s Community Service Month curriculum. In addition to thanking members of the armed forces, Little Learners Director Alicia Cournoyer invited police officers and firefighters from the town to visit with the children and explain to them what it means to be a public servant. The students were already familiar with the concept thanks to a series of books Cournoyer made available that address the topic of community service.

“They’re really into this. They could sit there and read those books for hours,” Cournoyer said. “It’s nice to see.”
