DISORDERLY CONDUCT

Patrolman Louis Cotoia responded to 6 Finne Road on the evening of Aug. 1 to speak with Brian Roczynski, 42, of the above address, in reference to a neighbor dispute.

Cotoia said Roczynski told him that he and nearby residents were having ongoing neighborly issues for the past year, and noted that he had a verbal argument on the night in question with one of the neighbors.

Cotoia spoke with a woman about the incident, and she said that when she exited her car in the driveway Roczynski began screaming at her from across the street. Cotoia said he advised her and Roczynski to return to their homes and cease the verbal arguments.

Cotoia was dispatched back to the area less than an hour later for the report of a man, later identified as Roczynski, brandishing a firearm. Cotoia said a person was standing on a nearby lawn, pointing in the direction of Roczynski’s house, saying “he has the gun under the table.”

Cotoia found Roczynski seated at the table and ordered him away, where he was placed in hand restraints for the officer’s safety. Cotoia asked where the gun was, and Roczynski advised it was under the outdoor table at which he was sitting. Cotoia said he found two firearms, one rifle type and one handgun. They were both later identified as BB guns, and Roczynski said he had been “shooting bottles in his yard” with them.

The reporting party said that, after Cotoia left originally, Roczynski told her “this ends tonight” and went inside his residence. The calling party said that later, while inside her residence, she saw Roczynski exit his home with what she recognized as a rifle. The reporting party said Roczynski began walking around his yard, pointing the weapon toward the residence several times. Cotoia’s said the calling party’s boyfriend corroborated the account.

Roczynski was charged with misdemeanor disorderly conduct. He was later arraigned and released on $1,000 personal recognizance until a Third Division District Court date of Aug. 12.

Patrolmen Derek Parascandolo and Matthew V. Leveillee responded to Cranston Police headquarters to take custody of Janice Diossa, 21, 58 Sedan St., Providence.

Diossa was taken into custody on an active Johnston Police warrant for simple assault and disorderly conduct. Diossa was later arraigned and released on $1,000 personal recognizance until a Third Division District Court date of Aug. 19.

Diossa was arrested in connection to an alleged incident that occurred on the morning of July 21. Patrolman Mario Mennella Jr. responded to a report of an assault on a waitress at Club Bebeto on 31 Greenville Ave. He spoke to the alleged victim at the scene and noticed several scratches on the left side of her face and chest.

The alleged victim told Mennella that during her shift, she noticed Diossa drinking too much, to the point she was slurring her speech. Mennella noted Diossa also works at Club Bebeto, but was in the establishment socially that evening.

Diossa was asked to stop drinking, and Mennella said she got upset and words were exchanged. At one point, Diossa wanted to fight her, and security walked Diossa outside as the alleged victim finished her shift.

After closing, the alleged victim said Diossa attacked her while she was walking to her car in the parking lot. Attempts to located Diossa at her address were negative.

SUSPENDED LICENSE

Patrolmen Andrew Broccoli and Kevin W. Lyons were on a fixed post near 2100 Hartford Ave. on the morning of Aug. 5 when they saw a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. Lyons said the vehicle was going 56 mph in a 35 mph zone.

Lyons conducted a motor vehicle stop and spoke with the operator, Jose Rivera, 35, 10 Alto St., Cranston. Lyons said Rivera provided him with proof of registration, insurance and a Rhode Island identification card, but when asked if he had a license, Rivera said he lost it.

A check revealed Rivera’s license had been suspended. A further BCI check showed he had been charged with driving with a suspended license in 2003 and 2015, as well as driving without a license in 2004 and 2006. Rivera was charged with misdemeanor driving with a suspended license, third or subsequent offense.
