JPD holding personal care drive for OSDRI

Posted

As the holiday season approaches, Chief Richard Tamburini and the men and women of the Johnston Police Department are reaching out to the local community to assist them with their Personal Care Drive for Operation Stand Down.

The chief and members of the Johnston Police Department are looking to collect personal items for veterans in need and their families. These items will not only help promote health and well being, but also encourage self-esteem.

The following is a list of some of the items being collected: razors (men and women), shaving cream, soap, shampoo, mouthwash, toothbrushes, tooth paste, powder, baby lotion, diaper cream, acne cream (non-prescription), bandages, first aid cream, combs, brushes, lip balm, nail clippers and tweezers.

Items can be dropped off in the box labeled for Operation Stand Down during the month of December at the Johnston Police Department’s headquarters on Atwood Avenue.

Please join Chief Tamburini and the officers and civilians of the Johnston Police Department to help brighten up someone’s holiday season. By donating to assist our veterans and their families, together we can let them know that they along with their sacrifices haven’t been forgotten.
