The Johnston football team fell to visiting Lincoln 59-30 last week during its homecoming celebration at JHS.

The clubs were tied at 14-14 after one quarter of play, but the Lions would score 31 points in the second quarter to put the game out of reach for the Panthers.

Johnston quarterback Hunter Remington and wide receiver Tom Zednik would stay hot in the loss, connecting on three touchdowns. The scores came from 67, 42, and 55 yards out to pace the Panther offense.

Emmanuel Santil would return a kickoff 80 yards for the score on special teams as well, while Remington connected on three PAT tries with Joey Acciardo.

Lincoln quarterback Randall Hien had a big outing for the Lions, tossing three touchdown passes while rushing for three more. John Jaramillo hauled in a touchdown pass and rushed for another, while Tyler Dusty rushed for a score, and Aiden Gould and Nick Toro each caught touchdowns. Lincoln kicker Erick Solorzano kicked a 26-yard field goal as well as six extra points in the win.

The Panthers fell to 0-4 with the loss, and will travel to Woonsocket on Saturday.
