The Johnston High School wrestling team competed in tournaments the past two weekends, most recently participating in the North Providence Invitational on Saturday. Chris LaVallee and Elijah Burgess both took first place in their respective weight classes. Carson Kenny took second place and Brad Testa took third place. One week earlier, Johnston wrestled in a tournament at Mt. Hope. Kenny and James Baccala both took second place, while Burgess finished in third place. The regular season kicked off last week, too, with meets against Cumberland, Cranston West and Narragansett. Johnston is currently 1-2 in the Division I standings.
