Johnston Senior Center celebrates 'Nifty Nineties'

Posted

On Friday, June 21, the Johnston Senior Center hosted its annual Nifty Nineties Celebration.

The ages of the honorees ranged from 90 to 99½, while honorees and guests were greeted and checked in by Pat Andrews and social worker Amy DiBiasio. DiBiasio coordinated the entire event.

Center coordinator Denise Bell then escorted the honorees to their table. The celebration started with music by DJ Joe Martini, who provided not only great music but also some interesting trivia questions about the songs. The honorees enjoyed a delicious luncheon provided by the JSC, along with a birthday cake, and everyone joined in to sing “Happy Birthday.”

DiBiasio had some trivia questions of her own that brought everyone back in time. First, second and third prizes were given to the lucky winners. DiBiasio thanked everyone for attending and again gave a special “thank you” to marketing director Linda Giorgio and Paul Pezzelli, owner of Golden Crest Nursing and Rehab Center, for their ongoing generosity.

Assistant Director Millie Santilli gave a special thank you to Zoila Ramos-Albizu from Blue Cross/Blue Shield of RI for sponsoring the entertainment.
