JHS Junior Prom an evening to remember

Posted

Warwick’s Valley Country Club was the setting for Johnston High School’s annual Junior Prom, which was decorated with beautiful gold trees with white and blue flowers, glistening lights and crystals hanging on the branches that enhanced the already special setting inside the private club’s ballroom.

The evening’s highlight was the ceremonial crowning of the King and Queen, an honor that this year went to this year Jordan Olivera and Ana Petrella.

Students danced the night away to music played by a disc jockey and special toast went to Peg Guilmette, a JHS physical education teacher, who student Emily Raposo said “spent countless hours preparing this amazing event, a night we will truly never forget.”

The Junior Prom King’s Court included Evan LaPlante, Jean Valesquez, Matthew Sabatoni and Matthew Loffredo. Queen candidates came from the list of Malorie Magnone, Alexis Araujo, Gabriella DiRaimo and Juliana Zalewski.

The 2018 event also featured a delicious dinner and students had their choice of roast prime rib or chicken parmigiana.
