J-DAPA Jingle Bazaar set to showcase more than 80 local vendors, crafters

The fourth annual J-DAPA Jingle Bazaar supports the arts and local crafters, so Johnston residents can come and get their holiday shopping done.

The Bazaar will be held at Johnston Senior High School on Saturday, Nov. 23, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The annual event will feature more than 80 local vendors and crafters showcasing their unique items.

Plenty of parking will be available in front of the JHS auditorium. Along with the holiday shopping, there will be a variety of hot foods for lunch including soups from Blount Fine Foods, Willow Tree chicken salad, and Seven Stars Bakery. In addition, there will be a large Penny Social and regular raffle featuring gift cards and items from all over New England, including a signed Red Sox baseball. Photos with Santa will be available all day for $3. Holiday carolers and entertainment will be onsite as well, with character appearances all day.

“The bazaar has become such a wonderful holiday event for shopping and getting in the spirit of the season,” said organizer Becky Silva. “The J-DAPA Jingle Bazaar is a great opportunity to showcase many local crafters and sellers. You are supporting their small businesses by shopping local, all while raising funds to help J-DAPA’s mission to keep the performing arts affordable for families. The festive atmosphere, variety of sellers, and fun activities makes for a great day in town for the family.”

Proceeds from the J-DAPA Jingle Bazaar will help support the 501c3 organization, Johnston Dance and Performing Arts (J-DAPA). J-DAPA keeps the performing arts affordable to families in the community and has a goal of renovating the Johnston High School auditorium to better serve their performances. J-DAPA will be doing a large-scale spring musical production of “Matilda” this spring.
