The owners of the Collyer Entertainment Center in Lincoln have converted a stretch of former industrial buildings into a family entertainment complex that includes rock climbing, batting cages, paintball, laser tag, arcades and indoor karting.
The RI Indoor Karting Entertainment Center has recently expanded with the addition of fine dining, a sports bar, bowling, billiards and a private event space located on the expansive second floor of the karting track.
We attended the open house last week and were overwhelmed with the facilities and the incredible bar and restaurant. FUEL Restaurant and Sports Bar features a large full-service bar with 35 seats. The entire restaurant, including the VIP room, can accommodate 450 people. Most of the tables are located against the huge windows looking down of the kart track and facing large flat TV screens strategically placed around the area.
FUEL can provide you with all of the standard sports bar burgers, pizza and chicken wings, but what sets them apart are the gourmet and healthy comfort foods.
Try their bacon-wrapped dates ($9), Brussels sprouts with bacon ($7) or red quinoa salad ($12) for that something extra special. Pizzas range from $12 to $18, and are made to order in minutes in their brick pizza oven.
After enjoying a sampling of their cuisine and a drink at the bar, I was ready to test my skills as a race driver. The orientation and registration was completed. I donned my helmet and neck brace, waited for my photo to come up on the big screen, and then set the record for the oldest (and slowest) driver on the course.
FUEL is worth the trip just for the food and drinks, but it can also be a fun night out for the family or group of friends.
The VIP lounge can be reserved for your church group, service club or private corporate event, with room for up to 200 people.
FUEL is open Monday through Thursday from 3-10 p.m., Friday from noon-1 a.m., Saturday from 10 a.m.-1 a.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Call 721-5554 or check them out online at www.fuelrestaurant.com.
The facility is located at 100 Higginson Ave. in Lincoln, only a short ride north on Route 95 to the Route 122 exit (Lonsdale Ave. – follow Lonsdale Ave north through Pawtucket and Central Falls). It’s only a short distance to Lincoln. Take a left at the Burger King on to Higginson Ave. You can’t miss it.
