Great stuff happening at Graniteville

Posted

Last week the Graniteville School celebrated Dr. Seuss. The students and staff got to meet the Cat in the Hat. They also wore red and blue as they read, One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish. The students learned that Dr. Seuss used to wear special hats when he was writing his books, so the children wore "wacky" hats one day and created their own piece of writing reflecting upon some of their favorite Dr. Seuss Books. A special thank you goes out to RI Birthday Parties.com that provided the Cat in the Hat for their week long celebration.

In addition, the Graniteville PTO held their first family movie night on Friday, March 9, 2018.  The children were asked to decorate a large box like a car at home and bring it with them to the event.  They watched the movie CARS 3 while sitting in their own “car”, and were able to experience the drive-in movie experience. Belle from Beauty and the Beast, also visited the children while they were watching the movie.  Pizza, water, juice boxes and assorted candy was available for all to enjoy.
