Amara Gibau was a key contributor on the Johnston/North Providence Co-op team, and because of this, she is this year’s Sun Rise Girls’ Hockey Athlete of the Year.
Gibau posted a strong junior campaign, adding to JNP’s offensive depth, as the team finished fourth in Division III in goals scored.
She was a solid playmaker for the team, with her nine assists being the fourth-highest total on the team, and she was sixth on JNP in points with 10.
Gibau will look to build off of her season this past winter when she takes the ice for her senior season next year.
