On Friday, April 26, the Rhode Island Community Food Bank will host the 7th annual Truck Stop: A Festival of Street Eats. Guests will enjoy a night of tastings from 22 gourmet food trucks for $85 while supporting programs that provide food to Rhode Island’s hungry.

Part of the Eat Drink RI Festival, the event raised more than $156,000 last year and has earned the Food Bank more than $758,396 since it started in 2013.

And this year’s Truck Stop introduces some exciting newcomers like the Burgundian, HG80, Kow Kow and Twisted T’s along with favorites GottaQ, Like No Udder and Noble Knots. Live music will be provided by Superchief Trio.

“Truck Stop has become such a rich tradition for friends of the Food Bank,” said CEO Andrew Schiff. “It’s a fun experience for everyone and it also has a huge impact on our neighbors in need. It truly is a great night for a great cause.”

This year, CVS Health’s GreenTeam worked with the Food Bank to make Truck Stop more eco-friendly. The GreenTeam developed a plan to organize waste into three separate compostable, recyclable, and trash streams, and will also provide volunteers at waste stations to direct attendees at the event.

Truck Stop is organized in partnership with Eat Drink RI with presenting sponsor Stop & Shop as well as IGT, Collette, Washington Trust, Webster Bank and many other generous donors.

The event will be held on Friday, April 26 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the Rhode Island Community Food Bank, 200 Niantic Avenue in Providence. Tickets may be purchased at rifoodbank.org/truckstop.
