The storefront at 560 Killingly Street in Johnston has housed many different business in recent years, most notably The Cookie Lady and Zoe’s Café.

Now, the location is the new home of a rather unique eatery, Ferrara’s Hometown Bar & Grill, where people can enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner seven days a week.

“Very nice!” exclaimed Mayor Joseph Polisena sometime around 5 o’clock last Thursday afternoon. “These people have done a great job with the interior.”

The mayor made that statement prior to offering his congratulations on the opening of yet another new business in town and congratulated the owners – a father and son team – of Robert and Alan Ferrara.

After exchanging pleasantries as people started entering the establishment for the Grand Opening party, Polisena presented the Ferrara’s with an official town of Johnston Commendation.

“Be it hereby known to all that the Mayor’s office and the citizens of the town of Johnston, Rhode Island hereby offers sincere congratulations to Ferrara’s Hometown Bar & Grill at this ribbon cutting ceremony, November 30, 2017. Representing all of the citizens I am honored to welcome your business to town and I would like to express the hope for success and best wishes, now and in the years to come.”

Ferrara’s features home-style cooking and authentic Italian dishes Sunday to Thursday from 7 a. to midnight; and Fridays and Saturdays from 7 a.m. to 1 a.m. For details or reservations call 751-4700.
