Courthouse Center for the Arts hosting The Moonstones with Tim Mercer

Posted

You have got to see this South County band, The Moonstones, at the Courthouse Center for the Arts on Saturday, November 12, at 8 p.m.

With a mix of rock, alternative rock, ’90s rock and original rock, The Moonstones are tearing up the town. These Rhode Island-based guys make up the band: Joe Russillo contributes vocals and guitar; Mark Torok plays lead guitar; Steve Weiner is on the bass; and Jon Grady rocks the drums. This South County hometown band is fun and will have you moving to the beat.

Opening for the Moonstones will be Portland singer-songwriter, Tim Mercer. His debut solo CD is a collection of songs that are the ongoing conversation between him and his wife, Casey, since her passing in June 2011. His CD was released on July 5, the 10th anniversary of the day they met. He says, “The cool part about [this album] is that Casey is immortalized in art. For me it’s all about her. You don’t just meet someone like that. Maybe – maybe – once in a lifetime.”

RSVP by purchasing tickets at www.brownpapertickets.com/event/2667101, by calling the box office at 782-1018, or by www.courhousearts.org. Tickets are available in advance for $12 or $15 at the door. The Courthouse has ample on-site parking, a full service bar and is handicapped accessible.
