The Johnston School Committee began Tuesday nights meeting with a special award presentation for Lauren Civetti, daughter of Councilman Robert Civetti and his wife Carol. The five-member board presented the standout senior student-athlete with a proclamation in honor of being named the Rhode Island Interscholastic Leagues Female Athlete of the Year.
The proclamation read: Let it be known to all that Lauren Civetti has been recognized by the Johnston School Committee as the Rhode Island Interscholastic Leagues Female Athlete of the Year and received the prestigious Honorable Monsignor Robert C. Newbold awards presented annually to the top schoolgirl-athlete in the state.
