Wings and a prayer

Cherry Hill Manor held its Memorial Day service on Friday, May 24, which featured the lighting of candles as names were read off in remembrance of those who had passed.

Billy Veader, Kevin Morgan and Ernie Marotta led off the program with a rendition of “America the Beautiful,” after which assistant activities director Tracey Wilton issued opening remarks. Beacon Hospice’s Wilson Villamar provided the reflection, followed by Marotta and Morgan singing the Prayer of St. Francis of Assisi.

Dr. Vincent Vacca led attendees in the “We Remember Them” prayer before Wilton and marketing director Loraine DiLorenzo lit the candles. Dietary manager Bianca Stone, activities assistant Becky Burch, assistant director of nurses Tanya Creighton, activities assistant Elspeth Badeau and unit secretary Lisa Marinelli served as readers for the Recognition of Lives.

DiLorenzo said the event was supposed to close with a release of butterflies, but that portion was postponed until Saturday.
