The Bank Rhode Island branch at 2104 Plainfield Pike – one of three BankRI locations in Cranston – has a new branch manager.

The bank recently promoted Amy Briggs to lead the office. Briggs joined BankRI in 2014.

“We’ve seen significant growth at Plainfield Pike during Amy’s tenure and we’re proud to see the community using the branch to its fullest capacity as a full service bank branch,” said Steven Parente, senior vice president and director of retail banking for BankRI. “We believe in promoting from within, and Amy has done a tremendous job establishing herself as a trusted banking professional in the Cranston community. We’re excited to give her this well-deserved opportunity.”

As manager of the full-service Plainfield Pike branch, Briggs is responsible for its day-to-day operations and leading a team of financial professionals. She focuses on creating and implementing personalized strategies to drive business development and meet the individual financial needs of each client. Briggs also oversees the office’s home lending and business lending products in-house.

Prior to BankRI, Briggs held branch manager positions with both Pawtucket Credit Union and Citizens Bank. She has more than 15 years of experience in the financial industry.

Briggs is a resident of Coventry and holds a bachelor of arts from Mount Holyoke College in Massachusetts, and an M.S. from the University of Rhode Island.
