It’s a jungle out there

Barnes Elementary School kindergarten teacher Jennifer Pavao recently led a unit of study on zoo animals, and the children chose giraffes, snow leopards and tigers to learn about through non-fiction books and articles. As a culminating activity, the children wrote a small book about the habitat, diet and other facts related to their animal of choice. They also created a puppet of their animal, and parents were invited after school to see them. (Submitted photos)
