About Boating Safely - One Day Class

In Rhode Island, anyone born after January 1, 1986, who operates a vessel with a motor that exceeds 10-horse power or anyone who operates a personal watercraft (Jet Ski) regardless of age, is required to complete a Safe Boating Course.

In the About Boating Safely -ABS- course you will learn the identification of navigational aids, elementary boat handling, required safety equipment, and the rules for using the local waterways as well as trailering techniques, knots and line handling, anchoring and emergency procedures. New and experienced boaters are welcome. Space is limited to 20 students.
