Hire Image LLC founder and CEO Christine Cunneen has been named a 2016 “Wild Woman” by the Women’s Resource Center of Newport and Bristol Counties, a non-profit domestic violence prevention organization.

Cunneen, a resident of Greenville, is one of 12 honorees recognized at a luncheon event held on June 16 at the Carnegie Abbey Club in Portsmouth. This annual event honored the civic involvement of women in the local community.

Among Cunneen’s achievements as a business owner of a nationwide background screening, drug testing, and verification services firm based in Johnston, she finds time to give back to several non-profit and civic organizations in leadership, board member, mentoring, and volunteer capacities.

“It gives us great pleasure to honor Christine for her many accomplishments and contributions to business, her profession, mentoring, and advocacy of women-owned businesses,” said Lori DiPersio, executive director of the Women’s Resource Center. “She brings passion and energy to everything she gets involved with and raises the professionalism and profile of those causes to which she dedicates herself. She truly fits our definition of a ‘Wild Woman.’”

As CEO of Hire Image, Cunneen sets the company’s vision and strategy while overseeing the operations, finance, and business development functions nationwide.

Cunneen is the immediate past chair of the National Association of Professional Background Screeners (NAPBS) and serves on the Global Advisory Council, Government Relations Committee, Finance Committee, and Governance Committee for NAPBS. She holds an advanced Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) Certification through NAPBS and is a member of the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) at both the national and local level, serving on the advocacy team and legislative committees.

Cunneen is vice president of the board of directors for Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ocean State. She also serves on the Planning Board for the town of Johnston. Additionally, she has been a member of the advisory committee for the Sue Weaver C.A.U.S.E. (Consumer Awareness of Unsafe Service Employment).

Cunneen is a 1990 graduate of Hofstra University (Hempstead, N.Y.), where she received her bachelor of business administration degree in accounting. She earned the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation and maintains membership in the Rhode Island Society of CPAs and Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. Prior to joining Hire Image, she enjoyed a 13-year financial career in New York as a CPA specializing in taxation for such companies as Barnes & Noble and ING.

Cunneen is a 2006 recipient of the “Make Mine a Million $ Business” (M3) award from Count Me In and AMEX Open and, when breaking the $1 million barrier, credited the program for helping her achieve that goal and contributing to her growth and success. Recently, she graduated from Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses, an intensive entrepreneurship training program held at Babson College.
