William M. Mulcahey, Jr., 84, of Linwood Drive in Johnston died Saturday, July 30, 2016 in RI Hospital surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Coral M. (Eaton) Mulcahey. They were five days short of celebrating their 59th wedding anniversary.

Born in Providence, a son of the late William M. and Anna (McCusker) Mulcahey. He had lived in Johnston previously living in Scituate. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War. He was the owner of Mulcahey’s Well and Pump Service before retiring. He had also worked at Pratt and Whitney for 25 years.

He was the Sargent at Arms of the Korean War Veteran Association, a member of the Sons of Irish Kings, Irish Ceilidhe Club, Irish Northern Aide, Past President of the RI Water Well Association, Square Dance Club.

He leaves his children, Lauri L. Allen and her husband, Mark of Woodbine, MD, Dan J. Mulcahey and his fiancée, Joan of Chepachet and Kellie J. Young and her husband, Timothy of Johnston; grandchildren, Ben M. Allen and his fianncé, Sara, Corey Grange, Katie L. Gruber and her husband, Adam, Hope C. Allen, Amanda J. Young and Patrick W. Young. He was the brother of Thomas Mulchaey and Jean Nelson both of Smithfield and brother of the late Marie Ostiguy, Nancy Stepinski, Carol Leveille and James Mulcahey.

His funeral was held Friday, August 5th at 9 a.m. from the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Greenville Common, Greenville. A Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Robert Bellamine, 1804 Atwood Avenue, Johnston. Burial with Military Honors will be in the Rhode Island Veteran’s Cemetery, Exeter. Visitation was held Thursday, August 4th from 4-7 p.m.
