In addition to Raposo, this year Community Provider Network of Rhode Island (CPNRI) also honored Dr. Donald Hebb, MD, who won the Special Recognition Award because of his continued compassion and dedication toward individuals with developmental disabilities. Hebb is an internist practicing out of Coventry.

Donna Martin, executive director at CPNRI, stressed the value that dedicated direct support professionals like Raposo add to the community.

“This is an important message for our staff who oftentimes work in isolation. It is an important message for the general community who may not realize the scope of this community, and it is a support and reminder for the leaders of organizations who are carrying the torch through dark times,” said Martin.

“On behalf of the entire West Bay family, I would like to extend my sincerest congratulations to Susan, Dr. Hebb and all of the 2014 honorees on their well-deserved recognition,” added Gloria Quinn, West Bay’s executive director.
