Visit some ‘Fine Art at Chapel View’

Posted

Cranston’s Chapel View has developed into a first class shopping and dining destination. You can purchase office supplies, buy a tent, shop for groceries, eat ice cream and order everything from a Johnny Rocket hamburger to Bonefish Grill Bang-Bang Shrimp.

And now you can visit an art gallery, filled with fine art by Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Connecticut artists. The three-room gallery, located next to Shaw’s, also features works by International artists.

Partners Alyssa Ann Heller and Lucas James Xavier Kolasa bring years of experience to the new endeavor, with pieces ranging from $70 to $5,000. Naturally, my favorite (shown below) was $5,000.

Over 100 people attended their open house last week, a benefit for the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition. The gallery is open Thursday through Saturday from noon to 6 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. or by appointment. Some of the artists exhibited include Daniel Read, Kim Ellery, Francis Mesaros and Polina.

You can check them out on their website, www.fineartatchapelview.com, or call 741-0718.
