A Johnston man has been charged with possession of child pornography following a tip from a nationwide organization and a subsequent task force investigation.
Kevin J. Blondin, 48, of 140 Borden Ave., was arrested Nov. 13. He was arraigned in Third Division District Court that day, with his next court appearance set for January.
According to Rhode Island State Police, an investigation was initiated after the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) reported a local individual had uploaded images and videos of child pornography to an online storage account.
The Internet connection at Blondin’s address was then identified as having been used to upload the files, police said, and a search warrant was executed at that location by members of the Rhode Island Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force.
