Time for city to fix the leaks

Posted

To the Editor:

I have been coming to the Buttonwoods Community Center for over a year as a disabled senior. The ceiling in the ladies room leaks every time there is precipitation, just above the only towel dispenser. The staff is aware and has brought this dangerous situation to the appropriate officials.

I filled in an online complaint form to Warwick City Hall, but there has been no response. Today the situation from the leak escalated with a new giant cauldron added to the useless line of containers in front of the towel dispenser. I took the attached photo and drove to City Hall. Neither the mayor nor any appropriate person was available to receive my complaint.

With the Baby Boomer generation now in need of senior services, Warwick needs to have more, not less, for its seniors. Creating hazardous environments in one of our few community centers is not the kind of “more” we want.

    Dear Michele,

Please vote for me for Mayor. Within my first 30 days in office I will repair your roof even if I have to pay for it myself. I can't believe the current Mayor doesn't care enough to fix it. I have also noticed that he is making a profit on his "Seniors transportation" to such places as Wrights Farm and Stop and Shop. You can get a taxicab to Stop and Shop cheaper than he charges! Check it out. Also, I will cut the car taxes in half for all seniors and veterans. Please visit my website at www.correntemayorwarwick.com.

Thank you Michele. I hope to meet you soon. You can call me at 401-338-9900.

    Happy Spring!

    Richard Corrente

    Democrat for Mayor
