Thelma C. Cagno Aurelio, 82, formerly of Cheryl Drive, lost her very long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease on Monday, November 24, 2014 surrounded by her family in the Holiday Retirement Home in Manville where she had received attentive and loving care.

Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Pasquale and Elisabetta (Leone) Florio, she had lived in North Providence for many years and later moved to Johnston. Thelma had been an Account Manager for Snow and Stars Corp. in Providence until her retirement. She was known to be psychic and was extraordinary in her perceptions. She loved to dance and was an award winning ballroom dancer. Although Alzheimer’s robbed Thelma of her memory, she was still able to sing many an old tune.

She would always say “her children were her life”, Rosanne Bizzacco and her husband, David of Uxbridge, Massachusetts, Donna DiSanto and Mario of Smithfield, John Cagno and his wife, Heather of North Providence, Kim Cagno and her husband, William of Redwood City, California; and her beloved grandchildren, Dante Piacitelli, Marisa Masiello and her husband, David, Chris Bizzacco and his wife, Victoria, Johnny and Tristen Cagno. She was mother-in-law to Lisa (Palumbo) Cagno; and sister of the late Sue Zavota.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held November 28, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Anthony’s Church, 1413 Mineral Spring Avenue, North Providence. Burial was private.
