St. Brigid’s bowls a strike

The event was billed as the St. Brigid’s Family and Friends Bowling Party, but Sunday afternoon’s affair, which occupied a number of duckpin alleys at Town Hall Lanes on Atwood Avenue, was much more.

For example, it was a time for Jason Martin – who teaches CCD Classes at the Roman Catholic Church that’s located off Plainfield Street – to share some time with his students and also his children, Angelise and Stephen Martin.

“We’ve been doing this for a few years now,” said Louise Iannotti, a long-time parishioner at St. Brigid’s who works on the parish’s annual Christmas Bazaar.

For $10, youngsters and adults got to enjoy two hours of duckpin “Cosmic” bowling, rent their necessary shoes, enjoy pizza, chips and punch and compete for prizes in various contests.
