Scribbles Academy celebrates Grandfriends Day

Posted

Scribbles Academy, which provides day care for children beginning at six weeks old to age 12, hosted its fifth annual “Grandfriends Celebration” on Sept. 12 at 678 Killingly St. in Johnston. The staff planned a day filled with activities enjoyed by both young and old and helped the children put on a performance. Invited were grandmothers, grandfathers, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, all in an effort to show that they are appreciated. After the activities, snacks were provided, and each guest left with a homemade pencil holder with pencils as a keepsake. The event is a different take on Grandparents Day, which is celebrated the Sunday after Labor Day.
