School spirit shines during homecoming festivities

The 49th annual Johnston High School homecoming events have finally come to an end.

This year’s homecoming extravaganzas could not have been possible without the help of student council advisor, Mr. Russo, and the entire student council itself. These people have been working since the summer to bring the town this joyous event and it was a huge success.

The pep rally held during school showed all faculty and staff, along with the new administration, all of the energetic school spirit that drifted through the halls of Johnston High School.

The homecoming parade was also a huge success thanks to people such as the police and fire department, along with all of the class advisors and presidents.

The homecoming game on Saturday was truly a homecoming miracle. The Johnston High School football team dominated over the Warwick Pilgrims with the final score being 52-36. The homecoming king and queen were also announced during halftime. This year’s king and queen are Kyle Nelson and Sarah Banno, who will return next year to be recognized one last time at the 50th annual homecoming events.

Everyone in the town, the alumni, faculty, staff, students, and all others came out and celebrated this season with the school. School spirit was bursting out of every corner and made this season possible. However, this year’s homecoming events have come to an end, but next year’s 50th anniversary will be celebrated with a lot of surprises.
