Santa making stop at Dunkin’ Donuts grand re-opening

Santa Claus is coming to town …

But jolly old Saint Nick isn’t coming to Johnston alone. In fact, he’ll be joined by a host of people, including Java Joe and Mocha Swirl as well as some radio personalities from 92 Pro FM.

“We’ve invited Santa Claus to make a special pre-holiday visit this Saturday, Nov. 21, and help us during the grand re-opening of the Johnston Dunkin’ Donuts store,” Matt Blanchette, a former ABC6 news and sportscaster who recently joined Regan Communications, announced Tuesday. “The owners are really doing it up big for this event.”

Blanchette said the grand re-opening for the Dunkin’ Donuts store at 602 Killingly St. will take place from noon to 3 p.m.

“There will be giveaways for everyone,” Blanchette said.

“Franchisee Jim Lynch will also have raffle prizes, balloon animals, face painting for the children, a caricature artist, along with both Dunkin’ Donuts mascots. It should be a fun time for all.”

It’s also expected that local Dunkin’ Donuts representatives will join in the celebration and help welcome Santa Claus to the store and the town of Johnston.

“Mr. Lynch wants the grand re-opening to be special,” Blanchette said. “We’re closing in on the holiday season and Santa’s arrival will help create a special mood. The celebration will be lots of fun.”
