The Cranston Police are actively investigating a bank robbery that occurred at approximately 12:35 p.m. Tuesday, November 15, at the Webster Bank, located at 1215 Park Avenue, Cranston.
According to bank employees, the suspect entered the bank and handed a note to a bank teller indicating she would be shot if she did not empty the cash register. The suspect is described as a white male, 25-40 years of age approximately 6’0 in height, wearing a pea coat style black hooded jacket, white scarf partially covering his face, jeans and loose fitting white gloves. After receiving the money, the suspect fled on foot in an unknown direction. No bank employees or customers were injured during the robbery.
If any member of the public encounters an individual matching the suspect in the bank surveillance photographs, do not approach and call 9-1-1 as the subject should be considered armed and dangerous. If anyone recognizes the suspect or has information regarding this crime, please contact the Cranston Police Detective Division at (401) 942-2211.
