FLIPPED

Patrolman Matthew Rado reports he was on patrol around 12:30 a.m. on Feb. 5 when he found a car that had flipped over on its roof near 1362 Atwood Ave. He said he activated his emergency lights and ran to the car. He said the woman who was driving was still in the car but she was able to unlock the doors and get out safely.

Rado said she had minor injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. She reportedly told the patrolman she was driving along north on Atwood when the car hit a patch of black ice and skidded out of control, up the snow bank on the right side of the road and collided with a telephone pole and landed on its roof in the roadway.

Rado said the driver, a 22-year-old Warwick woman, was not charged because there were no witnesses and no indications that excessive speed was a factor in the accident. Scorpio’s Towing cleared the car from the scene.

WARRANTED

Sgt. Joseph Salvadore reports he stopped to check on a disabled 2004 Volvo S60 on Plainfield Street around 11 a.m. on Feb. 6. He said he ran a check on the owner and came back with a warrant for failure to appear in District Court for a charge of presenting false documents to a public official. Oliver A. Cuellar, 24, of 590 Cottage St. in Pawtucket, was arrested without incident and later transported to District Court. Salvadore said an inventory of the car turned up four license plates, each with a different number, in the back seat. Checks on the plates did not come back as stolen, but they were seized for safekeeping. The two plates on the car were confiscated because they were suspended for failure to provide financial responsibility.
