SUSPENDED LICENSE

Sgt. Joseph Salvadore reports patrolling on Killingly Street at shortly after 10:30 a.m. on Nov. 10 when he observed a passing vehicle in which the passenger was not wearing a seatbelt.

Salvadore stopped the vehicle, and records checks on both the driver and passenger initially came back negative. The sergeant reports, however, that he was familiar with the operator of the vehicle “based on confidential criminal information this department had received,” and that the name the driver had given him was false. The driver’s license was also suspended.

Salvadore reports that when confronted, the driver acknowledged giving a false name because of the status of his license. He was arrested and transported to Johnston police headquarters. The sergeant reports a search of the vehicle revealed a knife measuring 3-1/2 inches located in the center console.
