OUTDATED

Sgt. Joseph Scichilone reports he was on patrol behind a Camry on Hartford Avenue around 5:50 p.m. on Feb. 20 when he noticed an orange “MAY 2012” registration sticker on the plate. He said he ran the plate and it came back as suspended for failure to maintain financial responsibility and that it should have been on a 2003 Dodge. The woman who was driving the car admitted the plates did not belong on the car. Scichilone said he confiscated the plates and gave Karla J. Fernandez, 42, of 168 Borden Ave., a ticket for operating an unregistered vehicle. Precision Towing removed the car.

MELT ASAP

Patrolman James Provuncher reports that several unregistered cars on Carl Street, about which police received complaints, turned out to be unregistered. He said he spoke to the owner of the property, who told the tenants they had to move them as soon as possible or they would be towed the minute the snow melted and the tow truck could get at them. He said one of them was moved while he was there, and he would check back later to see if the others were off the street.

ROLL OVER

Patrolman Jared Deangelis reports an accident with minor injuries at Hopkins and Winsor avenues around 1:40 a.m. on Feb. 22. He said the operator of a car that had rolled over after skidding out of control and hitting a snow bank was taken to Fatima Hospital for treatment. Before he left, the operator told Deangelis the car rolled over onto the driver’s side, but he managed to get out of the car by himself.

PLOWED

A man plowing the roads for the town of Johnston on Feb. 20 told Patrolman Derek Parascandolo he was clearing snowdrifts from the roadway when another vehicle tried to drive by him in the other direction, but hit a snow bank. That caused the rear of other car to slide out and hit the front of his truck. He said there was no damage to the plow and only minor damage to the car. Both vehicles were driven from the scene. No citations were issued.
