Vilma Zanni, Carol Cambio, Fran DiBiasio and Carolyn Bruno Najmowicz take a break from baking for the St. Ann’s Sodality Italian Cookie Bake Sale that will be held this weekend at Our Lady of Grace Church.

The St. Ann’s Sodality at Our Lady of Grace Church in Johnston has something special for anyone who’d like to leave cookies for Santa Claus.

This weekend, on Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 22 and 23, the St. Ann’s Sodality will host its second annual Italian Cookie Bake Sale at Our Lady of Grace Church at 15 George Waterman Road in Johnston.

Vilma Zanni, who has been a member of Our Lady of Grace Church for 50 years and is president of the St. Ann’s Sodality group, said a variety of traditional Italian cookies will be on sale before and after all masses on Saturday and Sunday.

Zanni said the masses at OLG are held Saturday at 4 p.m. and Sunday morning at 8:30 and 10:30.

“Our parish has a rich Italian-American heritage,” Zanni said. “St. Ann’s Sodality is known for its baking skills. The tradition and heritage and those skills will make up this weekend’s Italian Cookie Bake Sale.”

St. Ann’s Sodality is taking orders for trays of their handmade cookies. To pre-order, call 213-6408. Celia Zanni, Vilma Zanni’s daughter-in-law, is chairing the event, which is open to the public.
