After a 12-2 loss to defending state champion East Greenwich in its season opener, the Johnston High School softball team made some headway Tuesday but ran into another buzzsaw. Exeter/West Greenwich’s Andrea Artesani pitched a no-hitter as the Scarlet Knights shut down the Panthers in a 4-0 win. Amanda Columbo had a strong showing in the circle for Johnston, but couldn’t match the gem from Artesani. The loss dropped Johnston to 0-2.
